In 1960, Mark and Joan Fogal saw a need for a fire safety business in Salem, Oregon; thus, Instant Fire Protection was created. Their daughter, Mayonne Hoefling-Thompson worked here on and off while growing up and came on full-time in 1964.
After the passing of her parents, Mayonne became the second-generation owner. She was always involved in all aspects of the business from answering the phone, helping a customer at the counter, to ordering cabinets and all products.
When it was time for Mayonne to retire, she turned over the management of the business to capable hands — to continue the legacy of Instant Fire Protection Co. for her and her family.
In 2018 and 2019, two of Mayonne’s grandchildren began working at Instant Fire Protection (iFP) . In 2022, they assumed ownership of iFP, along with another sibling and their mother. Together they continue the Fogals’ vision of providing fire safety equipment and service to their community with integrity and affordability.
